The original version of Little Miss Muffet isn’t too hard to imagine. I can relate to her fondness for curds and whey and cozy tuffets. And truth be told, I'm not particularly fond of creepy-crawlies either. However, it does seem a bit excessive that one little bug could cause her to be so overcome that she abandoned her breakfast entirely. I couldn't help but imagine her with a touch more resilience.

What if Little Miss Muffet hadn't been the least bit frightened when that spider sat down beside her? 

What if, instead of being terrified, she was intrigued? 

What if she was a bit creepy and misunderstood herself, and found kinship with the arachnid visitor?

In my reimagining, I aimed to give Little Miss Muffet a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness, transforming her reaction from fear to fascination and perhaps even a respectful appreciation for her unexpected visitor.
