I remember being a kid, watching “The Shining” with my brother.  Despite watching it at home on the TV in broad daylight, we were absolutely paralyzed with terror.  At one point one of us yelled, “Turn it off! Turn it off!!!” and the other wailed in reply, “I can’t! I can’t!!!!”  We still laugh about it, decades later…and I’m still rotten at watching scary movies!  My version of the Japanese pictorial maxim of the three wise monkeys who "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" - this painting is a celebration of all the sweet, silly monkeys (including my beloved siblings) who attempt to take it all in!  Scary movie buffs will get a special kick out of the fashion choices of these movie-goers, with nods to Chucky, Freddy Krueger and the terrifying twins from…you guessed it…The Shining.  Now, turn it off, turn it off!!!
